Safety Harbor

At the top of Old Tampa Bay, east of Clearwater, lies the City of Safety Harbor. Its proximity to Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg makes it a very desirable location for city commuters, where they can escape from the hustle and bustle within a few miles.

This quaint community is revered for its small town feel and strong community involvement. The heart of Safety Harbor centers around the brick lined Main Street and offers you lots to see and do from the world famous Safety Harbor Resort and Spa to award winning restaurants and unique shops.

Safety Harbor is the home of the historic natural Espiritu Santo Springs, which have attracted attention worldwide for their curative powers. The springs were given this name in 1539 by the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto while he was searching for the legendary Fountain of Youth. The city of 4.89 square miles boasts 12 parks. You can take in stunning waterfront views of Tampa Bay from the Veterans Memorial Park Marina and pier, Bayshore Linear Greenway Recreational Trail and the beautiful coastal setting of Philippe Park.

The city of Safety Harbor hosts numerous events throughout the year. A Farmer’s Market is held every Thursday at the gazebo on Main Street from October-May. Other popular events include 3rd Friday Music Series, Junk in the Trunk, Annual Wine Festival and Holiday Parade.
